Helping Hands of Greenup County will have a sale and giveaway from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday.

The event is open to Greenup County residents.

Band to offer dinner, show

CATLETTSBURG

Boyd County Jazz Band will have a fundraiser at 7 p.m. May 6 at the Boyd County Community Center.

Food will be provided by The Mill.

Tickets, which are $15 per person, must be purchased in advance by emailing john.johnson@boyd.kyschools.us.

TSAA exhibit to open at HMA

HUNTINGTON

The Tri-State Artists Association will have an opening reception for the 2024 TSAA Biennial Exhibit from 2 to 4 p .m. April 7 at the Huntington Museum of Art.

The juried exhibit will continue at HMA through July 14.

Statewide tornado drill March 6

GREENUP

Greenup County Public Safety announced that Kentucky Emergency Management will conduct a statewide tornado drill on Wednesday, March 6, at 10:07 a.m., as long as there is no inclement weather in the area.

Sorority rummage sale nears

ASHLAND

The Kentucky MU Master Sorority will have its 24th annual rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. March 8 at Ashland First United Methodist Church activity center at 1811 Carter Ave.

Chapter adviser Brenda Phelps said membership is by invitation and meetings include refreshments and fellowship, as well as club business. The group supports Two Hearts Pregnancy Center, area food pantries, Safe Harbor, The Angel Tree, school patrol trips, AARF, suitcases for NECCO's Foster Kids, backpacks for students, CARES Jingle Bell Ball, The Neighborhood, sweatshirts and food for Paul G. Blazer High School. The group also visits nursing homes, spending times with the residents, and has volunteered for many area organizations, donating their time rather than money.

The group accepts donation to the sale and will pickup donations. Call (606) 922-2288.

All proceeds will go back into the community for service projects.
