A sports-loving toddler has amazed beachgoers with his flawless rendition of 'God Save the King'. A charming video shows three year old Maximus Stafford belting out the national anthem while on holiday with his parents in Kynance Cove, Cornwall.

Remarkably, Maximus has never been formally taught the anthem but has naturally picked it up from watching rugby and football matches. His mother, Charlotte Loach, 38, a school headteacher from Tanworth-in-Arden, Warwickshire, said: "So many people stopped still in shock."

She added that "People were clapping, saying to each other 'oh my goodness, did you just see that? '" and that "One person even saluted! " Maximus first started learning the national anthem when he watched the Six Nations rugby tournament last year and now he hums or sings it almost daily.

And added "He's just picked it up and we have corrected some of his words along the way."

She also mentioned that "He sings it most days and always hums it when he's playing" and that "He even likes to get people to put their arms around each other like the real players."
