Loki producer Kevin Wright has revealed that the show was never planning on recasting Jonathan Majors after the actor was charged with assaulting and harrassing a woman.

Majors plays Kang the Conqueror across the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is set to be Phase 5 of the MCU's main villain.

After Majors' arrest, some fans and critics expected the Creed III actor to be recast but the second season of Loki was shot before the allegations surfaced.

Speaking to the Radio Times, Wright explained that there was never any talk of replacing Majors in the show: "No. What we ended up shooting was what we set out to make. There was no additional photography, this might have been the first Marvel production that had no additional photography, so what is on screen is what we set out to make."

Majors is set to appear in court on 25 October and has denied all allegations with his representative saying in a statement: "He has done nothing wrong. We look forward to clearing his name and clearing this up."

Wright had previously stated to Variety about potentially replacing Majors: "It felt hasty to do anything without knowing how all of this plays out."

So far Majors has appeared in two MCU projects – Loki and Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania – while he is also scheduled to appear in the next two Avengers films as the main antagonist.

Following his arrest, Majors was dropped by his publicist and manager and was also pulled from United States Army recruiting commercials. He also had his invitation to the Met Gala rescinded and was cut from upcoming film The Man in my Basement with his role recast. Majors was also expected to star in a biopic of singer Otis Redding.

At the time of writing, Majors' only upcoming projects are MCU-related. Marvel and Disney have yet to make any comment on Majors' arrest and upcoming hearing.
