London has soared to second place in a league table of cities ranked on their attractiveness to highly skilled IT professionals.
The capital rose from 14th spot in 2019 to sit behind only New York in an index based on a city’s ability to develop, attract and retain digital talent.
It was followed by Singapore, San Francisco, Boston and Hong Kong in the seventh Global Talent Competitiveness Index revealed at the World Economic Forum in Davos today.
The rankings, drawn up by recruitment company Adecco, were published the day after Facebook said it plans to hire an extra 1,000 staff in London this year, of which more than half will be tech roles.
Nationally, Switzerland once again took first place, followed by the US, Singapore, Sweden and Denmark. The UK dropped from 9th to 12th.
