London travel news LIVE: Channel ferries cancelled and delayed while trains face disruption as Storm Nelson hits
Cross channel ferries faces delays and cancellations due to strong winds as Storm Nelson hits the Easter getaway.
Ferry company DFDS warned all services at Dover are currently operating with delays and has reported several channel crossings having to be cancelled.
Meanwhile a severe weather warning has been issued across Gatwick Express, Southern and Thameslink services as the storm hits.
National Rail has warned trains could be cancelled or hit by delays due to high winds and heavy rain, with the storm predicted to bring winds of up to 70mph to parts of England.
Disruption is expected from midday until the evening, with stronger winds expected across coastal routes.
Speed restrictions have been put in place to protect passengers between Bournemouth and Weymouth as the Met Office has forecast winds of more than 60mph, affecting some trains at London Waterloo.
The warning comes ahead of a predicted “Carmageddon” - with motorists advised journeys could take twice as long as 14 million Easter getaways are planned.

Police were called at 6.10am on Thursday, March 28, to reports of a car colliding with a tree on Lea Valley Road in Chingford.

Severe weather warning on trains at London Waterloo

A severe weather warning has been put in place for trains travelling to and from London Waterloo.
Speeds restrictions have been brought in place to protect passengers between Weymouth and Bournemouth in both directions as sustained winds of more than 60mph have been forecast in the area.
National Rail warned high winds can increase the risk of falling trees and of possible debris being blown on to the railway.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day.
Man arrested after stabbing on train in south London

A 19-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after a man was stabbed on a train in front of horrified passengers.
The British Transport Police were called to Beckenham Junction station just before 4pm on Wednesday following reports of a fight on board the train travelling from Shortlands railway station.

Ferry company DFDS has warned that several services have been cancelled due to high winds on the channel.
The Dieppe to Newhaven ferry at 6pm has been cancelled as well as the Newhaven to Dieppe service at 11pm.A third ferry leaving Calais at 4.35pm has also been cancelled.

Pensioner killed in A120 crash near Stansted Airport
