London weather forecast shows miserable 7 days of rain and thunderstorms

Forecasters are predicting a rather gloomy week, just a few days after the official start of summer. According to BBC Weather, rain will set in from tomorrow (July 6) to Friday, July 12.

Although Saturday (July 6) will be partly sunny, there will be light rain showers and a moderate breeze throughout the day, from 7am to 5pm. Friday (July 7) will see thunderstorms and light rain showers all afternoon.

Monday (July 8) will be brighter but with high levels of humidity. On Tuesday (July 9), there will be light rain showers, and Wednesday (July 10), Thursday (July 11) and Friday (July 12) all look set to be fairly similar, with drizzle and light winds.

A Met Office spokesperson said: "Sunny spells and scattered blustery showers Saturday which may be heavy and potentially thundery at times. Maximum temperature 19 °C.

"Sunny spells and showers Sunday, locally heavy with a risk of thunder. Sunshine becoming hazy Monday with cloud and rain arriving in the afternoon, cloud with rain Tuesday."

Today (July 5) looks set to be another gloomy day, with lights rain showers and light winds this morning. This afternoon, the rain will change to heavy, thundery showers, which will diminish for the most part in the evening.
