Are you looking for something a little different to do summer? This year you can escape the hustle and bustle of your everyday life by participating in a yoga class at London Zoo. This rather unique class will take place just next to the penguin enclosure, giving you a view of the zoo's colony of Humboldt penguins.

The hour-long Vinyasa class, instructed by the yoga experts at East Of Eden, kicks off after the zoo is closed, meaning you can truly relax among the sounds of nature, possibly including the occasional lion's roar.

This fun-filled class is suitable for all levels of yogi, from those who are complete experts to those who have been to a class or two. Just be sure to remember to bring a mat and some water.

Following the hour of yoga, a zookeeper and presenter will feed the Humboldt penguins whilst sharing some information about them - did you know that they don't come from the Antarctic, but from the temperate coastline of Peru and Chile? And that penguins are incredibly inquisitive animals with distinct individual personalities?

You'll also have the chance to ask questions if you want to find out even more about these adorable animals.

If yoga with penguins isn't quite your thing, then there are a number of other fun-filled experiences available at London Zoo.

You can even stay the night in a lodge right next to the lion enclosure, or take part in the friendly spider programme, which aims to cure participants of arachnophobia with help from a hypnotherapist and some zookeeps.

There are also opportunities to meet the zoo's meerkats and monkeys, and to learn just what it takes to be a zookeeper working with penguins, tigers and komodo dragons.

The Yoga at Penguin Beach expereince takes place from 6 pm-8 pm on certain Thursdays and costs £45, which includes a one-hour vinyasa and an evening penguin talk and feed and can be booked via the London Zoo website.
