Look: 'Cobra Kai' begins production on sixth and final season
Feb. 5 (UPI) -- Cobra Kai has started production on its sixth and final season.
Netflix announced the news Monday alongside a video featuring Ralph Macchio, William Zabka and other cast members.
Cobra Kai is a sequel to the Karate Kid films starring Macchio and Zabka as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence.
The show follows an adult Daniel (Macchio) and Johnny (Zabka) as the former rivals guide a new generation of students at the Cobra Kai karate dojo.
Courtney Henggeler, Xolo Maridueña, Tanner Buchanan, Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand, Martin Kove, Peyton List, Vanessa Rubio, Thomas Ian Griffith and Dallas Dupree Young also star.
"We've been very hard at work behind the scenes," Buchanan, who plays Robby Keene, says in the teaser.
"It's a little bittersweet because it is the last season, but it's gonna be the biggest, baddest season yet," other cast members add.
In addition, Kove, who plays John Kreese, promises "lots of surprises" in Season 6.

Cobra Kai creators Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg announced in January 2023 that Season 6 will be the show's last.
The trio said in November that the series finale will leave room for potential spinoffs in the future.
