Loose Women star Kaye Adams has celebrated her 60th birthday by getting her first ever tattoo.

The TV presenter filmed herself getting the tattoo over the weekend after turning 60 last December.

Posting on Instagram, Adams visited a tattoo parlour in Glasgow and had some ink on her forearm.

Adams then revealed that she had the words "over twenty one" tattooed on her arm in cursive in a tribute to her mother.

Alongside the clip, Adams wrote a caption which said: “I only went and did it! I teased I was going on the How To Be 60 podcast and I know most of you thought I wouldn’t do it (to be fair so did I last night!) but I’m so glad I did."

She added: “My mum will be up there rolling her eyes but I think deep down she’d be a little bit proud too!”

Adams also said she was planning to discuss her tattoo in more detail: “I’ll be talking more about the whole experience in an upcoming podcast but for now I just wanted to say a massive thank you @waywardwomantattoos at @blackdottattoo for being so kind and gentle with me.

"Honestly it felt more like going to a beauty therapist than a tattoo studio!”

The Loose Women presenter previously said that the tattoo's inspiration came from her mother never wanting to reveal her age.

She also created the How To Be 60 podcast to try and confront her fears about aging and reluctance to become older.

Adams announced on Loose Women last week that she intended to get a tattoo with fellow panellist Carol McGiffin saying she was having a "midlife crisis".

As well as her podcast and Loose Women, Adams also found time to star on Strictly Come Dancing last year.
