Denise Welch has shut down talk of a 'brutal' clash with one of her Loose Women co-stars, as she insisted to fans that she had a 'lovely time' on the daytime show on Tuesday. And the accusations levelled at Denise came as the programme was cut short by ITV to make way for live sporting coverage.

The ITV programme is gearing up to turn 25-years-old later this year and Geordie star Denise, while stepping away from the panel for a few breaks, has been pretty much a constant presence on it for the last two decades or so; meaning it was no surprise to viewers to see her on set when cameras rolled on Loose Women's second live episode of this week, which only ran until 1pm, rather than 1.430pm, due to horse racing from Royal Ascot.

Denise was on the panel alongside host Kaye Adams and colleagues Brenda Edwards and Janet Street-Porter, with the quartet discussing a range of different topics, including US President Joe Biden. Denise was accused in one online article of trying to 'silence' Kaye with a 'brutal gesture' during one of the chants, with another story then claiming she launched into a 'furious rant' when talking about the treatment of Biden in the press and on social media.

Hours after leaving the Loose Women studio for another day, ex Coronation Street and Waterloo Road actress addressed the reports surrounding her head on, sharing the headlines on her Instagram story and writing: "Well blow me down! I thought I had a lovely @loosewomen today with my mates Kaye Adams, Brenda Edwards and Janet Street Porter. But apparently not.

"In just a half hour show, I ranted, was furious, rude and brutal. If I'd been a man of course I'd be 'passionate' but hey ho."
