Denise Welch 'kicks off' with John Lewis in Instagram rant after delivery nightmare

Denise Welch has admitted to 'kicking off' with John Lewis after being left 'incandescent with rage' with the well known and very apologetic department store over an issue she had with a delivery on Wednesday.

As she so often is, Geordie star Denise was on the panel of Loose Women, as the ITV daytime show aired its fourth episode of the week, sitting alongside host Charlene White and colleagues Judi Love and Kelle Bryan. The live episode began with Charlene talking about the ongoing problems with the new Co-op Live arena in Manchester, after another gig, this time from rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie, was cancelled at the eleventh hour and gigs by music megastar Oliva Rodrigo, in the diary for this weekend, were also shelved.

Denise was the first to offer her opinion, remarking: "It's is no longer Great Britain, it is late Britain, I have to say. That's embarrassing, that' embarrassing. Three times people have been disappointed. Olivia Rodrigo is a huge international star. There are people, who I would have image, spent months planning for this, flying in for abroad, booking all their accommodation, because they can't get their act together."

Addressing her own frustration, Denise continued: "I did a rant on Instagram yesterday, not like me, I know. It was about a delivery and, I was, as the papers ay 'incandescent with rage' as my nearly 80-year-old mother-in-law as there waiting and the postcode put it three doors down so they wouldn't leave it.

"I was fuming and I feel like that is the only way sometimes that we can address things, going public with it. My chairs were delivered, first world problems I get it, but were delivered at 8 o'clock at night, because I had kicked off."

John Lewis responded to Denise's rant, saying they priding themselves on having 'excellent customer service' so were really sorry to have 'missed the mark', adding they were working on a solution 'as soon as possible.'

Denise has since deleted the original post about John Lewis having eventually received the chairs, thanking the 'two very nice gentlemen' she dealt with in customer service, who were 'very understanding' and admitted something had gone wrong 'on the system.' She also told her followers she'd 'always loved' John Lewis and had always had great service in store.

Talking about the debacle on Loose Women, Denise then mentioned a comment left by one of her followers underneath her rant, which read: 'I think at the end of the pandemic we were all put to sleep and woke up to find that aliens had taken over the world and that everything had completely turned to....."

The ex Coronation Star star then ranted: "Nothing is working! Service is appalling! Every bit of information you give has to be stored by a million computers. If it is, why is it not working?! We can't we just talk to people on a telephone? And, also by the time you get to the person you've literally lost the will to live!"
