Sophie Morgan has confirmed her sudden departure from Loose Women, confirming her exit from the show in a statement posted on social media.

Sophie has been a regular on the ITV lunchtime programme for a number of years but, after being noticeably absent over the last few weeks, took to Instagram on Monday to confirm she'd quit, telling fans: "I also wanted to update you on the latest with Loose Women. 'I am very proud to have been part of their groundbreaking work, including campaigns such as Body Stories - which celebrated body diversity & confidence - 'Facing It Together' - a campaign about domestic abuse - &, of course, my baby, 'Rights on Flights' which was born on the show last year (Sally [Shelford, producer] , thank you."

News of Sophie's decision to leave Loose Women, which she has blamed on her plans to divide her time between LA and London, comes as her name has once again been linked with an appearance on Strictly Come Dancing. This time last year, Sophie was being talked up for a huge first for the hit BBC show, with reports suggesting she would be its first ever wheelchair contestant.

And, while the rumours back them proved to be wide of the mark, her name is once again in the mix ahead of this year's line-up being revealed; with bookies having her as one of the frontrunners to take part, along with the likes of Hannah Waddingham, Roman Kemp and Perrie Edwards.
