Lori Loughlin Lampoons Her College Admissions Scandal on Curb Your Enthusiasm
In Sunday’s episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm, Larry agreed to sponsor Lori Loughlin at his golf club, where the very game Full House actress proceeded to parody her role in the now-infamous Varsity Blues college admissions scandal.
In March 2019, TV’s Aunt Becky was implicated in the scandal when she and her husband fashion designer Mossimo Giannulli were accused of paying $500,000 in bribes to get their two daughters into the University of Southern California, disguising the bribes as “donations” with the help of college admissions counselor William “Rick” Singer. It eventually resulted in a two-month prison sentence for Loughlin, a $150,000 fine and 100 hours of mandated community service.

In Curb’s latest episode titled “The Gettysburg Address,” Ted Danson asks Larry for a favor in helping the fictional Loughlin gain admittance to the club. L.D. jumps at the request, claiming to be a “champion of the underdog.” Of course, he quickly regrets his decision after Lori refuses to abide by the “cart path only” rule on her very first day on the green, claiming she has a doctor’s note for Epstein-Barr. After the round, she shows off an unwarranted handicap sticker on her car before chastising Larry’s short game.
Later in the episode, Larry learns that Lori was able to secure a coveted tee time by bribing the starter with some cash. Her integrity also comes into question toward the end of the game when Larry contests her score-keeping. After he inquires about her ball that was seemingly lost in the woods, the actress responds, “I had a good lie.” Larry then remarks, “Yeah, you had a good lie, alright.”
