Lorraine Kelly asks viewers for help as she loses her voice

The presenter posted a message on Twitter asking fans for tips

Lorraine Kelly fans advised her to head home to bed after she revealed on her show that she had lost her voice.

The TV star posted a message on Twitter telling viewers that she was a bit under the weather before starting her ITV show on Thursday (16 March).

"HELP!" she wrote.

"I’ve lost my voice – any cures that have worked for you (and yes – well aware some might say me not able to talk can only be a blessing)," she said, along with a crying with laughter emoji.

When Kelly's show started she was extremely croaky, leading viewers to suggest she head home.

"Lorraine get tae yer bed hen," one person tweeted.

Another wrote: "Lorraine is losing her voice. By tomorrow it’s gonna be gone.

"You could hear it going yesterday."

"Why is Lorraine even doing #Lorraine if she’s not well," wondered somebody else.

"Her voice is clearly going. Just spoils the entire programme if all we’re gonna hear is that.

"Get home to bed will ya, you’ve got people to fill in!"

Many others shared suggestions for the TV star, including rest, different medicines and even alcohol.

Later in the show during an interview with Tess Daly, Kelly joked: "I'm going to go home and guzzle a bottle of whisky!"

Kelly, 63, was also unwell last month, and ended up being sent home from the chat show.

"It was just a buglet and normally I can bat them away but this time it was a cracker," she explained when she was back on screen again.
