Lorraine Kelly “cannot wait to be a granny” as daughter announces pregnancy

Lorraine Kelly is set to become a grandmother, as her daughter Rosie Smith has announced she is expecting her first child.

Rosie, who has appeared alongside her mum on Celebrity Gogglebox, shared the happy news on Instagram by posting a photo of her growing baby bump and a sweet snap of her 12-week scan.

"We could not be more excited - you’re already so loved little one," she captioned the post.

Lorraine was quick to express her own excitement by sharing the photo of Rosie's scan to her own Instagram page, captioning it: "THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It’s the best news EVER!"

Plenty of famous faces took to the post's comments section to congratulate Rosie and Lorraine on the exciting news, including singer Craig David, who wrote: "So happy for you Lorraine. The best news xxx"

This Morning's Vanessa Feltz said: "My darling friend, I am so thrilled for you. I remember the day your beautiful Rosie was born. Such wonderful news. All my love always Vanessa".

"THRILLED FOR YOU ALL," commented Drag Race judge Michelle Visage, while Kate Garraway added: "Wonderful news! Congrats to Rosie and Steve and grandma & grandpa to be!"

It's been an exciting few weeks for Lorraine, who was recently told that she will receive a BAFTA Special Award in recognition of her contributions to the television industry over her 40-year career.

"What an honour to be the recipient of the BAFTA Special Award," the presenter said in a statement.

"A huge thanks to everybody I've worked with on screen and behind the scenes over the years. The people who make Daytime TV are very special people. Now I have to go and look for a show-stopping frock to wear to the BAFTAs on 12th May!"

Lorraine airs on weekday mornings from 9am on ITV.
