During Monday's episode (June 24) of Good Morning Britain, Susanna Reid and co-host Adil Ray turned to Lorraine Kelly for a preview of her show. However, the conversation quickly shifted as Susanna urged the Scots star to share her personal news instead of discussing Scotland's defeat to Hungary in the Euros.

Susanna said: "Lorraine is here. We're going to skirt over the disappointment Lorraine because you're celebrating something very special."

The Scottish broadcaster then revealed that her daughter Rosie, who is expecting her first child, is engaged to her partner Steve.

She expressed her joy saying: "It's fantastic, he is wonderful."

A picture of Rosie was shown on screen, where she was seen at dinner on holiday flaunting her large diamond ring, reports the Express.

Lorraine shared more about the engagement, saying: "He's had the ring for quite some time, got it sorted out, did the whole thing."

She also mentioned that Rosie's partner asked her husband of 32 years, Steve Smith, for permission before proposing. She added: "It's fantastic. Some much-needed happy news."

Susanna congratulated Rosie and her Steve, and also Lorraine and her Steve. Agreeing with Susanna, Lorraine admitted that having two Steves in their household can get "quite confusing".

"We'll have to sort that out at some stage," she chuckled, before saying: "But it's great, I will get a son! It's just lovely. He's a smashing fella and a lovely family so we're absolutely delighted."

Back in April, Rosie revealed that she was pregnant with her first child. Using Instagram as her platform, the 30 year old presented a picture of her growing baby bump, writing a caption that said: "We could not be more excited - you're already so loved little one."

She also uploaded a framed ultrasound image with the words: "The bean at 12 weeks the size of a fig."

Overjoyed at becoming a grandmother, Lorraine took to social media: "THE most exciting thing to have ever happened in our family! Cannot wait to be a granny and so proud of Rosie and her Steve. It's the best news EVER! ".

The ITV presenter went on to say: "We could not be more excited - you're already so loved little one."
