Lorraine Kelly has broken her silence following her noticeable absence from her popular ITV show Lorraine.

Still missing from viewers' screens, she shared a sad message following some heartbreaking news, reports the Mirror.

As a beloved dog mum to Angus, Lorraine sent her condolences following the news of crime writer Hilary Bonner's much-loved dog Coco's passing.

The poignant tribute comes as Lorraine is taking a break from hosting her popular programme during the half-term break.

Hilary took to social media to share an emotional message to her late pet, Coco, who died at 16.

Hilary posted a heartfelt farewell to her late pet, stating: "We said goodbye to our darling Coco yesterday, 16 days after her 16th birthday. She gave us so much joy and love for so long. There are no words to describe the enormity of her loss."

In response to this heartbreaking news, Lorraine extended her sympathies to Hilary, writing: "So sorry for your loss - she was gorgeous," alongside a broken heart emoji, reports OK! Touched by Lorraine's message, Hilary replied: "Oh thank you, Lorraine. She was gorgeous. And we are already missing her so much."

Words of support flooded in from Lorraine's fans, demonstrating a wave of love and compassion.

As fans rallied around, some were left confused over Lorraine's absence from her presenting duties, sparking rumours about her recent time off.

However, it's been confirmed that Lorraine is just on her regular break, timed with the school holidays a pattern she's known to keep.

While she's away, her colleagues Christine Lampard and Ranvir Singh are the usual stand-ins for her show.

Yet, eagle-eyed viewers have clocked Lorraine's frequent breaks this year, noting she's only hosted 48 out of 72 episodes.

A Twitter user commented: "Surely it's time to re-name the show with this level of attendance."

Another chimed in with: "#lorraine I wonder what Christine thinks when the rolling credits at the start of the programme showing Lorraine beaming at the camera, are shown."

Despite the chatter, Lorraine's loyal audience is keenly awaiting her comeback, respecting her well-earned respite and showing solid support.
