Lorraine Kelly has been praised by viewers for the gay wedding that was held live on her show, to mark 10 years since same-sex marriage was made legal in England and Wales.

To celebrate the important historical milestone for LGBTQ+ people in same-sex relationships, fans of the ITV show Gavin and Luke got married on Wednesday morning's (March 27) episode of Lorraine.

Lorraine herself was the celebrant at the ceremony, with Gavin and Luke's family and friends present to watch them make their vows.

The presenter said: "We've all gathered here today, with your friends and family to witness your commitment to one another and to celebrate the beautiful love that you hold in your hearts, both of you.

Meanwhile, it was an emotional occasion for another viewer, who wrote: "Well done Lorraine, tried to put morning make up on whilst watching wedding, NOT happening. Crying eyes out, had to wait and start over!"
