Lottery winner who won £650,000 doesn't receive penny after 'missing phone call'
A lottery winner won £650,000 on the lottery but didn’t receive a PENNY – because they "missed a phone call". The couple won a jaw-dropping and eye-watering £650,000 on the lottery - but, remarkably, they somehow missed out on the fortune.
Nareerat Phanphamorn and her husband, Kiat Liamsuwan, were just one call away from the riches but didn't answer the phone. The pair, who are from Thailand, had ordered the tickets in September but they never arrived.
The lottery announcement came on October 1 and the pair discovered, upon checking the winning numbers, how all five of their tickets had won the 30 million baht jackpot. They were told, after getting in touch with the ticket seller, that their tickets couldn't be delivered because Kiat had not picked up the phone when they called.

The pair have now lodged a complaint against the online lottery vendo. Nareerat posted about her experience on Facebook, attaching a picture of the winning tickets and writing: "It is within my reach. Let’s see if I can reach it or not. The shop did not give me the tickets.”
The seller, defending their sales practices, said Kiat contacted the shop after the lottery result was announced and said that it has a rule that customers can only contact the shop before 4pm on the day of the lottery. They also said the tickets never arrived because their calls went unanswered - but the pair say they have no missed their calls.
A lawyer, when approached for comment and analysis on the case by Thai TV this week, said the lottery tickets should belong to Kiat because the sale and payment contract had already been completed even if he had not yet paid for them.
The lawyer advised Kiat to sue the shop owner for embezzlement.
