Louise Thompson has been flooded with messages as she shared a video of herself trying on different swimsuits after she was seen submerging herself in a pool for the first time since major surgery to have a stoma bag fitted.

Earlier this month, the former reality star asked her social media followers to 'be kind' as she showed her stoma bag for the first time after sharing how she'd had to have her colon removed. The news came after Louise spent 17 days in hospital at the start of the year.

She said she had to cut her much-awaited family holiday to Antigua short as after pushing through, she knew she couldn't wait any longer to seek medical attention. Sharing concerning details, Louise said she was 'going to the loo every 20 minutes losing cupfuls of blood' and said once at the hospital, had blood tests but 'things got worse quite quickly'.

She said she had to have 'surgical intervention'. After returning home, it wasn't long until Louise ended up back in the hospital and ultimately told her concerned fans that she'd had her colon removed.

The 34-year-old then later introduced "the grey bag that may well save my life" to her followers, telling fans: "Isn’t it bizarre that this little grey pouch is the price I pay for good health! I say good riddance to that nasty menacing colon!"

Louise has since been sharing updates as she navigates the change to her body and how it impacts her life, including her young son's reaction. And taking to Instagram over the weekend, she marked the milestone moment following the procedure, as she submerged herself in water for the first time during some fun at a waterpark with toddler Leo.

Louise was all smiles as she splashed around the pool with her three-year-old little boy as they got to enjoy some fun on a water slide. Sharing a video of herself making a splash on the slide, while sporting a gorgeous classic black swimsuit,, Louise told her followers how she was feeling about her first time swimming since the surgery. She said: "This is the first time I’ve fully submerged myself in water in over 3 months. That’s actually crazy. I can’t believe I’m saying that. No swims. No baths. No nothing."

Now, Louise has shared a video of herself modelling different swimsuits as she told fans what she 'won't wear' now she has a stoma - and the answer was 'nothing'. The former Made In Chelsea star captioned her post: "Things I won’t wear with my bum bag: NOTHING."

"I have to say I’m pretty amazed by how incognito my stoma bag is in my cosi’s ! Might be a different story by the end of the day but for now this is SERVING. What are we thinking about the name Winnie? And more importantly have you got it? I think it’s priceless. Clue: [honey pot emoji] , but open to suggestions. Was on our og baby name list, but this will do for now. L x."

And the comments section was quickly filled with messages from people sharing their own stories while also praising Louise and offering their support.

@theguthealthdoctor said: "Love this so much. The number of patients I’ve seen too afraid to wear anything tight. You’re going to give so many people the confidence they deserve." @themissiondietitian commented: "Yes Louise!! This is incredible and will hopefully give so many some confidence to do the same."
