Yahoo News Love Island's Mike trips up over Jess romance claims
Love Island fans said their goodbyes to Mike Thalassitis and Tyla Carr tonight (July 17).
After the pair made their way out of the villa, Digital Spy caught up with Muggy Mike to find out exactly what he meant about his relationship with Jessica Shears.
Did they have sex behind Dom Lever's back?
Both have repeatedly denied the allegations, but Mike set tongues wagging when he implied to pal Marcel Somerville that he could have had Jess if he'd wanted.
He boasted: "I'm telling you now yeah, she'd be with me. But she's gotta do what she's gotta do though, innit? I said to her, 'Go do your thing, you don't owe me nothing.' Dom was never my mate. I had about two conversations with him."
In case viewers had any doubts over what exactly he was getting at, Mike then shared a little more information when he was alone in the Beach Hut.
He ranted: "I don't give a shit about Dom. I said to him, he's lucky I didn't proper stick it on [Jess]. He should be thanking me for that because if I did proper stick it on her, who knows what would have happened?"
While Mike seemed confident in what he had to say on the show, Jess didn't quite agree and has insisted ever since she left Love Island that nothing happened between them.
Demonstrating her commitment to boyfriend Dom, she's even opened up about the possibility of marriage.
So, you can understand why Digital Spy was so keen to pull Mike up on his comments and explain what he meant by claiming she would have chosen him but she had to "do her thing".
Unfortunately, when it came to the crunch, Mike's memory wasn't working too well.
"I didn't say that? I wouldn't have said that word for word," he snapped.
When we tried to tell him otherwise, Mike then sounded pretty miffed as he told us: "I don't remember saying that, I'm not going to go on what you have to say."
Then we tried to ask him if he had "stuck it on Jess", does he genuinely think she would be with him now instead of Dom – as he boasted to Marcel.
On the contrary to what he said in the villa, Mike muttered: "I don't know, I'm not Jess am I?! You saw the papers. Nothing happened between us!"
As the conversation started to get a tad awkward, we moved onto another subject: Tyla Carr.
However, he didn't sound overly keen on discussing their relationship status either.
"I've only known the girl for five days – we are not in a relationship," he insisted, while she stood in the background. "But we definitely enjoyed sharing a bed together. We are more compatible than Olivia [Attwood] and Chris [Hughes] though."
Erm... it was lovely chatting to you, Mike.
