Love Island is shaking up the winter series once more with a bombshell twist that sees two stars of the dating show's Australian version enter the villa.

In Friday's episode, viewers saw David Salako become the first islander dumped from this season, but as ever with the ITV2 series there were more contestants waiting in the wings to join the group.

However, the two newest bombshells might seem familiar to Love Island superfans as they have both already appeared on the Australian version of the dating show.

At the end of the episode, Love Island teased the imminent arrival of Aaron Waters, a 25-year-old model and content creator from Melbourne, and Jessie Wynter, a 26-year-old personal trainer and influencer from Sydney.

Waters appeared in season three of the Australian version of the dating show, which aired in 2021, and Wynter took part in season two in 2019.

They both left their seasons with partners they had met in the villa, and Waters finished as a runner up couple, but both have now split from their Love Island co-stars and are looking for romance again.

Waters said: "When I was in the Love Island Australia villa, I didn’t open myself up to other opportunities that I could’ve possibly had. This time round I want to be testing the waters by being open-minded and giving everyone a chance.

"In terms of my experience in the previous villa, I went in there wanting to be myself and I can truly say I felt comfortable in myself in every way so I’d never change it."

Wynter added: "I’m single and have been for quite some time! I’m very lucky to live the life I lead, but it does get a bit lonely. All of my friends are settling down, and it’s time for me to do the same.

"The last time I had a relationship, it was in the Love Island Australia villa - so let’s go!"

The last season of Love Island saw previous contestant Adam Collard brought back to join the 2022 cast, but this is the first time that there has been an international crossover.

Viewers will see Waters and Wynter arrive in tomorrow's episode at 9pm on ITV2.
