Love Island's Maya Jama hits back at body-shamers with defiant message

Maya Jama said "read it and weep" whilst responding to online trolls who were swift to remark on her physical appearance. Love Island shared a teaser trailer for Thursday's episode which showed Maya donning a figure-hugging red latex dress.

The look was accentuated with fiery straps draped over her shoulders as she made a bold entry into the villa. Soon after the reveal, Jama took to social media to share more about the attire but also took the opportunity to confront any "trolls" likely to comment on her ensemble.

After sharing details of her outfit via snaps, Jama re-shared them on her Instagram stories along with a caption that read: "Also for those that are new here, I have never had any surgery. My weight fluctuates monthly... sometimes I'm curvier, sometimes I'm skinnier but my body and boobs are 100% natural.

"As I said before trolls... READ IT AND WEEP." In the same series of Instagram stories, she took time to commend her Love Island co-workers for their efforts in the present season, reports GB News.

She further added: "Casa is ALWAYS my favourite part of the series & it's a madness. Every. Single. Time. Big up the production for the overnight turn arounds of the episodes also. You lot forget there's people working 24/7 to get daily episodes out, it's a shift and they deliver every time."

This isnt the first time Maya Jama has publicly responded to accusations of plastic surgery on social media. Previously on X, formerly known as Twitter, a fan commented: "Maya Jama looks so fake. Why fill your breasts with silicone, so unnatural. Surely men don't really like it."

Quickly shooting down the speculation, Jama hit back with: "My boobs are real you Wallad." The TV presenter received an abundance of positivity when she posted this year's Casa Amor ensemble photo.

"Christ alive," commented popular presenter Jack Remmington, while Top Boy star Verona Rose complimented her with: "Baaaabe! You are just out of this world." Reality TV star Lateysha Grace and ex-TOWIE star Jess Wright added their awestruck reactions: "Whewwwww".

It's not the first time Jama has publicly hit back at social media users critiquing her appearance and accusing her of surgical enhancements.

On X, formerly Twitter, one fan had penned to the presenter: "Just wow". Lastly, actor Jameela Jamil jokingly remarked: "Jesus Christ. Are you trying to KILL these contestants? ".
