A mum sought opinions on her daughter's name on Reddit and was left stunned when people told her she'd chosen a "quintessentially disliked" name.

The mum shared that her daughter's birth was a "miracle" as she conceived at 43 after being informed that it would "never happen" for her. When it came to naming the child, the mum opted for Everleigh-Ana

She posted: "I'd really like to know what people think of her name. Her first name is Everleigh-Ana. Her middle name is Grace (after my grandmother). Ana is pronounced Ah-na, not Ann-na. I realise it's sort of a long-ish name and most of the time I call her either Everleigh or by her nickname, 'Evi' (which is pronounced Eh-Vee, not Eve-vee)."

The mum revealed that several people in her real life have told her how "beautiful" her daughter's name is, but she wanted to gauge the reaction of people on the Name Nerds forum on Reddit because she knows how "harsh" they can be.

She continued: "When people ask her name, they usually comment on how beautiful it is and you can usually tell when someone genuinely thinks it beautiful or they just think it's pretty or are being extra polite. So, I read all of the name posts on here and although I know some are quite harsh, I'm interested in knowing what people honestly think of her name. Everleigh-Ana."

However, the feedback was indeed brutal. Some users claimed that the name "Everleigh", particularly with the spelling chosen by the mum, was notorious as a "disliked" name.

One commenter remarked: "Everleigh is like THE quintessential disliked name around here, so this probably isn't the best place to ask. I think it would be pretty if it wasn't such a meme."

Another chimed in: "Since you say you are truly looking for what people think, I will take you at your word. Grace is lovely. Ana is lovely. Everly would be trendy. Everleigh is a travesty." Meanwhile, a third declared: "That name is terrible."
