Love, Victor spoilers for season one follow.
Love, Victor has officially been renewed by Hulu for a second season.
The series, which is set in the same world as 2018 romantic comedy movie Love, Simon, will be back for another run of episodes after becoming the most-watched drama on Hulu during its premiere week in June, reports Deadline.
The series follows Creekwood High School's newest student Victor Salazar (Michael Cimino) as he tries to settle into life in a new town while facing challenges at home and exploring his sexuality.
The first season saw him struggle with his sexuality as he fell in love with his coffee shop co-worker Benji Campbell (George Sear) while trying to pursue a relationship with his friend Mia Brooks (Rachel Hilson).
The season ended on a cliffhanger as Victor told his parents that he is gay for the first time, with the final episode ending before viewers saw their reactions.
Love, Victor was originally developed at Disney+ but moved over to fellow Disney property Hulu before launch, something which the show's executive producer and co-showrunner Brian Tanen called "a great opportunity".
"I'm thrilled that we're on Hulu because we want the show to have a very long life," he said. "As we progress into future seasons, and as our teenagers grow up, these things that make up the fabric of teenage life – including adult and sexual experiences – are just going to be easier to tell on a more adult network like Hulu."
Love, Victor was created by This Is Us executive producers and co-showrunners Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger, who also wrote Love, Simon based on Becky Albertalli's novel Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda.
Tanen explained to Digital Spy that the cliffhanger at the end of the first season was intended to make viewers empathise with Victor's anxiety about coming out, saying that the "nervousness and anticipation that the audience feels, is the central feeling that Victor has been feeling all season long".

There's plenty to dive into in a second season and now that it's been officially confirmed, we can look forward to "a very rich" selection of stories, according to Tanen.
Love, Victor season one is available to watch in the US on Hulu. A UK broadcaster is yet to be announced.
