Lucy Beaumont has given an update on her divorce from husband Jon Richardson during a stand-up show in Cardiff. The 40 year old is currently touring the country with her first show The Trouble and Strife - which is British slang for 'wife'.

According to the Mirror, Lucy explained why the show's name hasn't changed since the split, stating: "I didn't have time to change the show [name]. We're friends. It's the best for everybody."

Lucy was seen arriving at her stand-up show in Cardiff earlier this week, marking the first sighting since she announced her divorce. The comedian was spotted outside the Sherman Theatre, where she performed a sold-out show on Wednesday evening. This comes just days after she and Jon, 41, jointly announced their separation in a statement. The couple confirmed they are divorcing after nine years of marriage.

During her outing this week, Lucy was seen wearing a tan jacket with skinny jeans and heeled boots, carrying a WHSmith carrier bag. Her estranged husband Jon made his first solo outing on Sunday, at a family screening event of the Bluey episode The Sign in London.

Jon and Lucy insisted the separation had been 'amicable' as they detailed their priority of putting their child first. The duo have been the stars of the 'at home mockumentary' show about their relationship, Meet The Richardsons, since its inception in 2020. The fifth series kicked off on Dave just last week on April 8.

In the programme, they portray 'exaggerated versions of themselves', taking playful jabs at each other. A statement released to the PA news agency read: "After 9 years of marriage, we would like to announce that we have separated. We have jointly and amicably made the difficult decision to divorce and go our separate ways.

"As our only priority is managing this difficult transition for our daughter, we would ask that our privacy is respected at this sensitive time to protect her well-being. We will be making no further comment."

The couple's romance began in 2013 after being introduced by fellow comedian Roisin Conaty. They tied the knot in April 2015 and welcomed their daughter in September the following year. Whenever Jon and Lucy have appeared together on TV, they often made light-hearted remarks about their relationship.

The couple have starred in Meet The Richardsons, which started in 2019, where they play 'exaggerated versions of themselves'. The fifth series launches this month on Dave.
