Fonsi scored a massive worldwide hit in 2019 with “Despacito.” He has penned new music for the film and also serves as a producer.

” ‘Say A Little Prayer is a story about love, wanting it, losing it and finding it when you least expect it,” said Fonsi. “I’m proud to be a part of this funny, relatable and heartwarming movie as one of the lead actors, producer and songwriter.”

“Say A Little Prayer” revolves around three friends — played by Vannessa Vásquez (“Divorce Bait”), Jackie Cruz (“Orange Is The New Black”) and Vivian Lamolli (“East Los High”) — who recite an ancient prayer in search of true love. The trio “find themselves matched with the wrong partners, leading to hilarious and heartwarming moments.”

The film was penned by Nancy De Los Santos. ” ‘Say A Little Prayer’ is a big tent movie that welcomes everyone to enjoy the laughter and love,” she said.

New Cadence, founded by producer Jeff Valdez and investor Sol Trujillo, and Migrant Filmworks will collaborate on taking the film through the festival circuit and in marketing the film to general audiences. Migrant Filmworks is headed by Perez Vidauri and Cristina Nava.

“This is a film for the new mainstream audience, and it reflects the reality of 21st century America,” Trujillo said. Valdez observed, “New Cadence truly understands the market opportunity for this film. We
are so honored to come on board this very special project.”

“Say a Little Prayer” also stars Angélica María, Chris Kattan and Tatanka Means.

“The central message of the film revolves around the strength of friendships between women,
emphasizing that no matter what challenges life throws their way, they always find solace and
support in their friends,” said Nava, who is a producer on “Say a Little Prayer.”
