Lulu has admitted her Champagne for Lulu tour is her farewell to fans after 60 years in music.

The Shout singer and Absolutely Fabulous star appeared on Lorraine to discuss her upcoming eight date tour in April 2024, and admitted these concerts will be her last, telling Lorraine Kelly: "This is the first time I have said this but this is a farewell tour with family and friends which leaves a little 'who, what, when'.

"I did a tour last year which was gruelling for many reasons and I don't have to go into them all but I'm 75, I don't feel it but I am. I thought it's got to be a celebration because you know how much I love to sing."

The tour takes it name from one of Jennifer Saunders' catchphrases in sitcom Ab Fab, in which Lulu cameos as herself. The Eurovision Song contest winner said: "Thank you Jennifer for that title. Because she uses it in Ab Fab, wherever I go in the world there are people that just call out in the street, 'Champagne for Lulu.'"

And she teased that she may be joined on stage by special celebrity guests during the show, having famously duetted with Take That on 90s hit Relight My Fire. The singer said: "Gary Barlow called me before but he is not necessarily coming but we talked, let me just say.

"That's kind of what I felt about a celebration, Champagne for Lulu, it's sort of farewell to touring so my die hard fans will not be happy about that but I'm not saying I'm going to stop.”

But Lulu fans should not be disheartened, as the Scottish singer is still planning to make new music. She said: "I want to work and I want to keep working. I am going to do an album with very interesting people. So this is a celebration. I start in Glasgow and I do two warm up gigs, before the tour opens in my hometown."
