Luxurious cruise ship arrives in Greenock on 23-day European voyage

A LUXURIOUS cruise ship has arrived in Greenock as part of a one-way 23-day cruise from Lisbon to Oslo.

Oceania Cruises' Marina left the Portuguese capital on June 13 and has since visited ports in Bilbao, Bordeaux, London, Bruges, Amsterdam and Cork.

She left Dublin last night to make her way across the Irish Sea.

The vessel, built in 2011, can carry up to 1,250 guests across her 15 decks.

Marina will depart Greenock this evening for Stravanger in Norway.

She will also visit Kristiansand in the south of Norway before arriving in Oslo on Saturday.

An easyJet flight to Tenerife had to make a sudden U-turn and return to Gatwick due to a "technical issue". The captain of flight EZY8033, which left the London airport at 7.26am and was due to arrive in Tenerife at 11.50am, decided to return to Gatwick "as a precaution", easyJet said. "The safety and wellbeing of our customers and crew is our highest priority and easyJet operates its aircraft in strict compliance with manufacturer guidelines."
