M&S fans are ‘feeling left out’ as ‘hard to resist’ £1.30 treat arrives in stores
Marks and Spencer has revealed a new range of baked goods to their foodhall - but it has some foodies “feeling left out”. Four new “marvellous” muffins are taking over M&S bakeries costing those with a sweet tooth £1.30 per treat.
The “spongy, squishy and a little bit saucy” muffins are made with buttermilk and topped with all kinds of treats, as you munch your way to the centre to find fruity jams and rich chocolatey fillings.
The Victoria Sponge is filled with strawberry jam and topped with Madagascan vanilla and clotted cream buttercream, while the Lemon Drizzle is filled with Sicilian lemon curd and topped with crunchy sugar pearls.

There is also a Blueberry Crumble filled with wild Canadian blueberries, blueberry jam and hand-finished with crumble topping as well as a Double Chocolate muffin filled with milk and dark chocolate chunks, a rich chocolate flavoured filling and topped with chocolate curls.
Shoppers can find the sweet treats in bakeries from today (April 15), however some M&S fans have complaint about lack of dietary inclusivity.
Sarah said: “Feeling left out - can you please have combined dairy and gluten free option please?”
A spokesperson for M&S replied: “Hi Sarah, we have gluten-free muffins available in our foodhalls, including double chocolate, zesty lemon, and blueberry. I've let our Food Team know you'd love to see some dairy-free options too. Thanks for letting us know.”
Another person commented: “The Victoria Sponge sounds delicious. It would be amazing to have this gluten free rather than the ubiquitous chocolate chip.”
M&S responded those looking for gluten free options could also get their hands on the flavours Zesty Lemon and Blueberry in Free From Wheat options.
Those who have sampled the muffins already have said they are “hard to resist” and “so tasty.”
Charlene said: “The victoria sponge muffin is amazing had it a few times.”
Hayley commented: “The Victoria sponge is my fave.”
