M&S makes change to freezer aisles and shoppers say 'please tell us you haven't'

M&S has discontinued an "absolute favourite" ice cream flavour. Marks and Spencer, or M&S, has come under fire over the move in its freezer aisles - and the product disappears from shelves - in a major blow to shoppers and consumers and customers.

Shoppers begged to see Chocolate Millionaires return. "Hi there!" wrote a Twitter/X user. "This is my absolute favourite ice cream ever but I can't find it in any of my local M&S stores. Please tell me you haven't discontinued it?"

M&S duly responded to the shopper's query. The company sadly confirmed: "Hi Natalie, it looks like we're not selling this any more - fingers crossed it'll return one day. In the meantime, make sure to check out our incredible ice cream range in-store now!"

Meanwhile, an M&S spokesperson said: "We’re constantly reviewing, refreshing and improving our ranges across the Foodhall and have launched 1,250 new products in the last year, as well as upgrading 1,000 products.

"This year we are launching 1,400 new products and upgrading a further 1,000 products." The ice cream is chocolate and caramel ice cream and contains fudge pieces with a salted caramel sauce and also shortcake biscuit pieces and is suitable for vegetarians.

A product description reads: "Contains Milk, Buttermilk, Wheatflour, Gluten and Soya." On Hello Supermarket, a description reads: "M&S Chocolate Millionaire's Ice Cream A delectable chocolate and caramel ice cream with fudge pieces, salted caramel sauce and sprinkled with shortcake biscuit pieces."

An online review explains: "It consists of chocolate and caramel flavour ice creams with chocolate fudge pieces, topped with salted caramel sauce and shortcake biscuit pieces. What a treat! The caramel ice cream in particular was lovely and full of flavour. The chocolate ice cream part is ok, but not really necessary.

"The fudge pieces add a little chewy texture, and the shortcake bits in particular were nice, with a good flavour. The salted caramel sauce also adds some flavour but did get a bit lost in everything. That said it’s not surprising as the tub had melted quite heavily when I opened it! (I couldn’t wait for it to refreeze."
