M&S reveals the 'ultimate gourmet picnic food' shoppers say is 'mouthwatering'

With the sun staying out for longer and warmer days on the horizon, M&S has revealed its “ultimate gourmet picnic food” that has left shoppers’ “mouth watering”. Its homemade sausage rolls has been revealed to be the “most-loved savoury pastry” by foodies, making it the perfect picnic treat.

Made with British pork, caramelised onions and herbs wrapped in a golden all-butter puff pastry, one customer described the sausage roll as “the ultimate gourmet picnic food”.

Crafted by expert bakers in Yorkshire, 45% of M&S foodies picked their “best ever sausage roll” to win the supermarket’s pastry award.

In a post on social media, M&S said: “First up in our ‘Loved By Customers’ Picky Bits Hall of Fame… the award for the most-loved *savoury pastry* goes to… Our Best Ever Sausage Roll (with a whopping 45% of the vote!)

“Handcrafted exclusively for M&S by our expert bakers in Yorkshire, these mighty mouthfuls of British pork, caramelised onions and herbs are wrapped in the most golden all-butter puff pastry.

“One customer described them as “the ultimate gourmet picnic food”, and we couldn’t agree more.”

Many M&S shoppers agreed it was a worthy win with Sara saying: “Have to say these are the best sausage rolls I’ve ever tasted!”

Andrew commented: “I had some recently and they were delicious.”

Sandra said: “They are simply delicious.”
