M25 and A3 overnight closures in Surrey, including at Wisley, Heathrow and Hindhead

Drivers this week will need to be wary of the road closures planned for major routes in Surrey. The M25 is set to shut for three days in both directions for the third time this year.

Diversions will be organised through local routes near Chertsey, Wisley and Cobham. A closure at Painshill might impact drivers using diversions through Cobham on the A3.

For diversions during the M25 closure at Chertsey and Wisley, read the full story here. The closure is set to miss the school holidays, but those travelling to Heathrow and Gatwick should make sure to leave early as traffic is likely.

Elsewhere in Surrey, drivers leaving Heathrow at night will need to take diversions, as the slip road will be shut heading anticlockwise. Those connecting to the M40 might need to take a diversion, which should be highlighted in yellow boards.

Overnight closures usually take place from around 10pm, but can start as early as 8pm in some instances. Morning opening can sometimes overrun, especially due to certain weather conditions.
