M6 and M53 motorway closures starting May 20
Motorists in Merseyside have been warned to expect delays and disruption as a number of motorways will be partially closed this week.
Sections of the M6 and M53 will be partially closed this week for essential roadworks and National Highways has warned drivers to "expect disruption". The motorways are closed so National Highways can continue to repair the region's roads.
Here are the motorway closures you can expect in Merseyside this week. This list is subject to changes from National Highways.

Monday, May 20
The M6 southbound will be closed between junctions J23 and J22 from 9pm to 6am on May 20 to May 24
The M53 northbound will be closed between junctions J11 and J8 from 9pm on May 20 to 6am on May 21
Tuesday, May 21
The M6 southbound will be closed between junctions J23 and J22 from 9pm to 6am on May 20 to May 24
The M53 northbound will be closed between junctions J11 and J8 from 9pm on May 20 to 6am on May 21
Wednesday, May 22
The M6 southbound will be closed between junctions J23 and J22 from 9pm to 6am on May 20 to May 24
The M53 northbound will be closed between junctions J11 and J8 from 9pm on May 22 to 6am on May 23
Thursday, May 23
The M6 southbound will be closed between junctions J23 and J22 from 9pm to 6am on May 20 to May 24
The M53 northbound will be closed between junctions J11 and J8 from 9pm on May 22 to 6am on May 23
Friday, May 24
