Married at First Sight Australia spoilers follow.

Tonight's (March 13) episode of Married at First Sight Australia saw couple Ellie Dix and Ben Walters clash over an off-camera conversation about their relationship.

As Intimacy Week got underway for the couples, Ben and Ellie's relationship hit a stumbling block after a date that left Ellie questioning her husband's intentions for being on the show.

During a series of workshops with expert Alessandra Rampolla, Ellie told the other brides her excitement for Intimacy Week had changed after Ben mocked her at dinner when he asked if she believed he was there for the right reasons.

"I wanted to give this experiment the best shot, but I feel like I'm second-guessing everything," Ellie told the group, while a shocked Alessandra replied that she was "so sorry" to hear about Ben's comments.

In a video confessional, Tori branded Ben a "man-child," while Alessandra said it was "totally disrespectful" of Ben to mock Ellie during a serious conversation.

"I am very much looking forward to talking to Ben at the next commitment ceremony," Alessandra added.

The workshops also led Ben to have an epiphany of his own about their relationship, as he surprised Ellie by saying a phone call with his sister made him realise his does see himself settling down and having children in the future.

Ellie said it was "better late than never" to hear that he cared about her. "This makes me feel so much better, feel like I just needed to hear that from you," she added.

Elsewhere in the episode, Sara and Tim hit the rocks. After a boozy night out with friends, she cancelled, for the third time, a date he'd planned.

Tim said he felt "let down" by Sara's actions, to which she replied, "Don't take this personally." She added, "I like to go out with my girlfriends and not worry about this sort of stuff."

Sara apologised for cancelling the date. However, the two were unable to come to an agreement after Tim said he felt "zero empathy" from her over his feelings.

Will the couple be able to find a way back from this?
