MAFS star Al Perkins issues apology after rare animal rule-break
Married at First Sight Australia star Al Perkins has shared an apology after breaking a rule around a rare animal.
The reality star was at the centre of controversy recently after posting photos to Instagram of himself petting and appearing to feed a quokka – a rare marsupial found largely on the Rottnest Island off Western Australia.
Visitors are banned from touching or feeding the animals, and face fines up to $300 if they break the rules. However, Al appeared to break the rule, having himself shared pictures of the warning signs before posting the photo.

Speaking about the incident, Al told MAFS star Ollie Skelton on the TOSSER podcast that he had received comments from people saying he was an "inconsiderate tourist" for getting so close to the quokkas. He also stated that he had been contacted by the Western Australia government notifying him of having to pay the fine.
Al then said he felt like the podcast was "the right opportunity" to make an apology.
He then shared: "If [the Western Australia government] are listening, government officials of Rottnest Island, I want to say that I am sincerely sorry for my actions and my behaviour on the day of going on Rottnest Island.
