Married at First Sight UK spoilers follow.

Married at First Sight UK groom Arthur has admitted "regret" over his wedding vows on the show.

The reality series returned to screens last night (September 18), with one of the most dramatic occurring when Arthur read out vows he found on the internet to his bride-to-be, Laura.

Part of the vows included the words "I love you", leaving Laura shocked – and the groom has now admitted that it probably wasn't the wisest idea to say something that big to someone you've just met.

Speaking to Tyla about finding the vows, Arthur explained: “That week when I found out that I've got to write my vows, I was going through a tough time and I didn’t really have much time to sort of sit and think about it.

“Because it takes you a while to sit down and think of the right words to choose for someone that you've never met before."

He then said: “What I do regret is adding the ‘I love you’ bit to the end, a little bit. But you know what, it is what it is.”

Ahead of his debut on the show, Arthur revealed that he initially "wasn't interested" in appearing, telling Digital Spy and other press: "I actually haven’t seen the show before… until I got in. I didn’t apply for it… they just contact[ed] me through socials….

"They’ve contact me once at the start of last year, I wasn’t interested, and they contact me again at the start of this year and I thought to myself, ‘Let’s go for it’."
