MAFS UK's Peggy responds to reunion and says "the truth will come out" about Georges split

Married at First Sight UK's Peggy Rose has responded to the show's recent reunion episode, claiming that "the truth will come out" about her and Georges Berthonneau's split.

The pair appeared together on last night's (February 26) reunion, which was filmed before their separation was announced earlier this month.

Ahead of the episode's broadcast, Peggy took to her Instagram Stories and revealed that she would not be watching the episode, admitting it would be "really hard" to do so.

"I just wanted to say, I hope you all enjoy the MAFS reunion tonight. Sadly, I won't be watching it because I can't bear to see me be a fool and be with a liar," she began.

"And I'm gutted because I feel like I've let you all down. And, it'll just be really hard to watch it, really. I hope you all enjoy it. I absolutely loved it. You know, when I was there, in love – I thought it was love."

Peggy then added: "But the truth will come out, that's all I can say and I believe in karma. So yeah, I'm trying to be the bigger person and it's hard."

Fans were left somewhat confused during the episode as the now-former couple appeared together, Georges later clarifying on Instagram: "It was a new [episode] that was filmed in November. So just towards the end of the show."

Announcing their split on Valentine's Day, Peggy wrote on Instagram: "I’m so sorry I’ve been quiet on socials everybody but there’s a reason for my silence. Me and Georges are no longer together and I’m absolutely heartbroken.

"It’s affected my mental health and it’s taken me weeks to come to terms with it. But with it being Valentine’s Day, I can’t pretend to be okay. Thank you to everyone who has supported us on our journey… nobody is more upset about it than me."

Georges added in his own statement: "I’m heartbroken by our breakup and also trying to come to terms with life without Peggy. I appreciate a lot of you have questions, but I won’t be talking about this situation as of yet. Also thank you for the messages of support."
