Comedy fans assemble. Classic cop show Magnum P.I is making a return to UK screens tonight.
The 1980s hit is the latest in a long line to be rebooted for the modern day, with the show already having aired in the US. Now, it’s a chance for UK fans to tap back into criminal Hawaii.
With a brand new cast, sadly without Tom Selleck and his impressive moustache, the comedy is available on Sky and NOW TV for a weekly nostalgia trip.
Here is everything you need to know about Magnum P.I:
What is it all about?
The detective series, like the original, will follow crime-fighting ex-navy SEAL and “charismatic and charming American hero” Thomas Magnum as he whips around Hawaii in his famous red Ferrari.
His private investigations require his military precision as the law falls into his hands. Magnum works alongside Ms Higgins, who is described as tasked with “keeping Magnum in line”.
Who is in the cast?
Taking over the reins from Selleck is Friday Night Lights actor Jay Hernandez.
Ready Player One actress Perdita Weeks stars as Juliet Higgins, Stephen Hill is Theodore “TC” Calvin and Zachary Knighton is Orville “Rick” Wright.
There are also a few Hawaii Five-0 crossovers, for ultimate crime-fighting fans, amping up the reboot excitement. They include Kimee Balmilero as Noelani Cunha and Taylor Wily as Kamekona Tupuola.
When is it on?
Magnum P.I starts tonight at 9pm on Sky One and NOW TV.
