Maidstone and Malling General Election results as Conservatives hold onto seat

Maidstone and Malling will continue as a Conservative constituency as Helen Grant holds on to her seat by winning 14,146 votes. She was first elected in 2010 and has served since then.

Second was Labour's Maureen Cleator with 12,472 votes, and as seen in many parts of the county, Reform came third, with Paul Thomas who won 9,316 votes.

The Liberal Democrat's David Naghi won 6,375 votes and the Green Party's Stuart Jeffery won 3,727 votes. Independent Yolande Kenward won 197 votes and Gary Butler for the British Democratic Party won 156 votes.

Following a boundary review which came into effect last May, the constituency now includes places such as East Malling, West Malling and Kings Hill.

It is one of five seats in Kent that the Tories have held. The others are Weald of Kent, Tonbridge, Sevenoaks and Faversham and Mid Kent. Every other seat, other than Canterbury, which was held by Labour before the election and Herne Bay and Sandwich, where results have not yet been declared, have been lost to either Labour or the Lib Dems

Poll turnout was 61%
