Are you a Malaysian Gundam Extreme Vs: Full Boost fan? This is a call to arms: a tournament awaits!

What happens when you don’t have anything exciting going on in your game fandom of choice? You make something happen, of course. Self-confessed Gundam lover, Stevie Lin, runs the Heavyarm game shop in Petaling Jaya, Malaysia, and he’s running a Gundam Extreme Vs: Full Boost (EXVSFB) tournament on May 18.

The prizes for the tournament are quite attractive; the first place two-man team will walk away with RM 200 ($60) in cash, a RM 100 ($30) Heavyarm cash voucher, two limited edition Gundam Extreme Vs: Full Boost steel cases, and two Real Grade Gundams.

Lin says set up this tournament in the hopes of fostering stronger bonds between fellow fans of the game, and the original animations that the game is based on. While he and his team have spent a good amount of effort organizing and preparing for the tournament, they have largely left it up to the community to promote the event through word of mouth.

I personally would like to commend Lin for his efforts in setting up a tournament for this game, which is wildly popular in Japan but is only played in small circles in the region. Me and my friends are actually planning to cross the border to attend this event and to meet fellow enthusiasts and play some games with them.

If you would like more details regarding this tournament, simply mosey on down to their event Facebook page for more details. God speed!
