Man in 70s dies following fatal collision in Chorley
An appeal has been launched after a man in his 70s died in Clayton-le-Woods.
Yesterday (May 18), Lancashire Police were called to reports of a collision at around 10.48am. For several hours, the A6 Preston Road was closed in both directions following the accident, from Fiddlers Lane to Bank Lane.
At the scene, officers found a Suzuki Celerio had collided with a wall. The car had been travelling south on the A6 towards Chorley.

No other vehicle was involved but the driver, a man in his 70s, was pronounced deceased in hospital. A statement from Lancashire Police reads: "Our thoughts are very much with his family and loved ones at this distressing time.
"If you witnessed the collision or have dashcam footage from the A6 around the time, please contact police on 101 or by emailing quoting log 0468 of 18th May 2024."
