Man in 70s hit by car in Ewell as road closed

A pedestrian, a man in his 70s, was hit by a car in Ewell, with the road still shut. The man was involved in a serious collision on Kingston Road when he was hit by a car at around 2.45pm thus afternoon (7 May).

The man has been taken to hospital where he is being treated for his injuries. Kingston Road in Ewell has shut along the A240 between Ruxley Lane and Timbercroft. It remains shut as of 5.30pm.

Surrey Police is looking for witnesses to the crash, who might have been in the area between 2.40pm and 2.50pm. It is not yet known when the road will reopen.

Surrey Police said: “We are appealing for witnesses following a serious collision in Ewell this afternoon.Officers were called to Kingston Road in Ewell at 2.45pm following a collision between the driver of a car and a pedestrian.

"The pedestrian, a man in his 70s, has been taken to hospital for medical treatment. The A240 is currently closed between the junctions of Ruxley Lane and Timbercroft. Were you in the area around Kingston Road between 2.40pm and 2.50pm this afternoon? Do you have any CCTV, dash cam or helmet cam footage that might assist our investigation? If you have any information that might assist our investigation please DM us quoting CAD 0460 07 MAY 24.”
