Police are hunting a man who approached a schoolgirl in a red SUV in the Highlands.

The 10-year-old was allegedly confronted by the man on Fairmuir Road, Muir of Ord, Easter Ross at 6.30pm on Tuesday May 14.

The man did not get out the vehicle and did not touch the child.

Officers have now launched a probe to establish more details on the exact circumstances. They are looking to trace the man and vehicle involved.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "We would appeal to anyone with information that may assist us to contact 101 quoting reference number 3287 of 14 May."
