Man armed with knife jailed for 'causing trouble on beach'

A man who was armed with a knife on a beach in Cornwall has been jailed for six months. The man was reportedly causing trouble on a beach near Padstow last month, while he was in possession of a knife.

Police were called to Polzeath Beach on Tuesday, June 25, following reports of a man causing trouble in the area.

As police teams arrived to the scene, they found a man in possession of a knife. He was arrested by officers from Bodmin and Wadebridge Police.

He was brought before Bodmin Magistrates Court yesterday (Tuesday, July 9). The man was sentenced to six months imprisonment.

A statement from Bodmin Police said: "Units attended and a male was arrested for being in possession of a knife. Yesterday he appeared before Bodmin magistrates and was sentenced to 6 months imprisonment."
