A MAN has been arrested on suspicion of rape in Bradford city centre, police have confirmed.

A police scene was in place on Dale Street on Friday after officers said they received a report of a "serious sexual offence".

At the time, a spokesperson for West Yorkshire Police said a woman was being supported by specially trained officers.

Today, the force spokesperson said a 58-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.

He was later bailed pending further enquiries.

On Friday, a West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: "A police scene is currently in place at Dale Street in relation to a report of a serious sexual offence.

"A woman is being supported by specially trained officers.

"Enquiries are ongoing by the Bradford District Safeguarding Team."
