A man who was banned from entering Aldershot for two years by law has been jailed after breaching the order. Leonard Jones, 38, of no fixed abode, was charged with breaking a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

The CBO was issued on September 7 last year, after he was spotted on Manor Walk on June 28. He tried to flee the scene but was arrested on nearby Eastern Road after a short foot chase.

Jones admitted the offence and was jailed for six weeks at Basingstoke Magistrates Court on Tuesday (July 2).

Police Sergeant Rob Tiller, from the Aldershot Neighbourhood Policing Team, said: "A CBO was imposed in September, which banned Jones from entering Aldershot for two years, but he brazenly ignored this and was located in the town.

"We hope this reassures people that we will continue to take action to enforce CBOs that have been granted by the courts."
