Man broke into home to steal, TV, iPhone and tuna tins
A man broke into a home to steal a TV, new iPhone and tins of tuna. Andrew Burns, 39, of Maryland Avenue, Hartford, Huntingdon, broke into a woman's home while she was away for the weekend in August 23.
Once the victim arrived home, she found a ladder propped up against the house and a bedroom window wide open. The court heard how her possessions were strewn across the house and items were missing.
Among the missing items were a TV, a new iPhone and tins of tuna. Once police arrived at the home, they found Burns' fingerprints and he was later arrested and charged.

Burns pleaded guilty to burglary and was sentenced to two years and three months in prison at Peterborough Crown Court on Wednesday, January 15.
Detective Sergeant Jonathan Lockwood, who investigated, said: “Coming home to find your home broken into is the stuff of nightmares. Thanks to the vital work of our forensics teams, we were able to place Burns at the scene and link him to the crime.
“Burglary can have a devastating impact on victims, which is why tackling it is one of our priorities and we are working hard every day to bring offenders before the courts."
