Man charged with attempted robbery after woman ‘jostled’ by gang

A man has been charged following an attempted robbery near Wingstop in Leeds.

Henry Tyrell, 19, appeared before Leeds Magistrates Court on Friday morning (May 3) charged with attempted robbery following the incident last month.

CCTV captured the moment a woman was “jostled” by a group of men outside Wingstop in Boar Lane on Tuesday, April 23. It is believed that she may have been the victim of a robbery.

It followed another attempted robbery earlier in the day at around 2.30pm in which suspects tried to steal a jacket from a man in Leeds market, before chasing him into Boar Lane.

West Yorkshire Police had previously launched an appeal to trace the victim, who was described as having dark shoulder length, curly hair and thick rimmed, red glasses which look to have reflective lenses and was wearing a black top, black leggings and black and red running trainers with white soles. She has since been identified.

Mr Tyrell appeared before Leeds Magistrates Court on Friday, May 3. Has been released on conditional bail and will appear before Leeds Crown Court on Thursday, June 6c, 2024.
