Man charged with murder after 27-year-old stabbed to death at home in Hackney

A 27-year-old stabbed to death in east London has been named as another man is due to appear in court charged with murder.

Police were called to a home in Mare Street, Hackney, shortly after 11pm on Friday to reports a man had been stabbed.

They found a man - who has now been named as Sebastian Zon from Hackney - suffering a stab wound.

Paramedics and London’s Air Ambulance were also sent to the scene, but despite treatment Mr Zon was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three people were arrested on the spot, on suspicion of murder.

Police revealed on Monday that Zbigniew Galek, 52, of Mare Street, has now been charged with murder and is due to appear at Thames Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

A 53-year-old woman was released on bail to a date at the end of May, while a 43-year-old man was released with no further action.

Mr Zon’s next of kin have been informed of his murder, and are being supported by specially trained officers.

Homicide detectives from Specialist Crime are investigating.
